Wed, 02/18/2015 - 20:55 -- daverb
Summary:

This report summarizes results of an evaluation of USGS and NSTA Earth science education materials including water posters, teacher packets, fact sheets, and web sites. The evaluation consisted of two national surveys and two focus groups. The survey participants were USGS State Representatives and purchasers of large numbers of posters. The purpose of the surveys was to assess the use and usefulness of the USGS water posters. The focus groups, in contrast, explored the use, usefulness, and recommendations for multiple USGS education materials. Participants in one focus group were formal educators; participants in the second group were nonformal educators. As a result of the evaluation, the USGS extensively modified its web site and modified its poster distribution strategies.
